Deputy Director:  Ed Abel, MPA, Deputy Director of the CATALYST Consortium, oversees the administration, supervision, and performance management of all consortium members. He monitors project technical services and program operations, including program information and evaluation, medical standards, training, subproject support, institutional development, and documentation while also providing leadership to the Senior Technical Advisors, Regional Managers, and the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer. Graciela I. Salvador-Dávila, MPH, MS, MD, is the Senior Reproductive Health Advisor for the CATALYST Consortium.  She provides overall technical guidance for developing reproductive health service delivery strategies with other project staff while accommodating proven country-specific approaches. Dr. Salvador-Davila received her M.D. in General Medicine and Surgery, at the Facultad de Medicina, Universidad Central del Ecuador, Quito in 1980. She received an M.S. at the Institute of Human Nutrition, College of Physicians and Surgeons, Columbia University, New York, New York in 1988, and she completed her M.P.H. at the Division of Population and Family Health, Columbia University, School of Public Health, New York, New York in 1991. Dr. Salvaldor-Davila has worked for nearly twenty years in different parts of the world in the field of public health as a physician, educator, trainer, researcher, program planner, policy adviser and evaluator (Full Bio).

Leah Sawalha Freij, MPH, PHD Senior Technical Advisor for Empowerment: responsible for developing strategies and plans to integrate gender throughout CATALYST project, and to utilize community and social mobilization and linkages with nonhealth programs as strategies to empower women, men, adolescents and communities in RH/FP. Coordinates and collaborates with partners to develop capacity in the design, management and monitoring of programs that actively promote gender equity. Develops proposals, training materials and documents/disseminates best practices in the areas of gender/empowerment, community/social mobilization and linkages (Full Bio).

Kamlesh Giri, MPH, MBBS is Reproductive Health Officer and works in coordination with the Senior Reproductive Health Advisor in providing technical guidance for developing reproductive health service delivery strategies with other project staff in a manner that reflects a project-wide strategy while accommodating proven country-specific approaches.  He provides technical program assistance and support; and, when required to serve as the Country Coordinator, he assists specific country programs with the planning and provision of assistance from other in-house experts and consultants (Full Bio).

Orlando Hernández, PhD, serves as the Senior Evaluation Advisor to the CATALYST consortium, with expertise in the design, monitoring and evaluation of international development interventions (Full Bio).

Denise Harrison, MBA, is the Senior Commercial Advisor and leads CATALYST’s efforts in public-private partnerships.  Ms. Harrison has over twelve years of experience in global health marketing in both the commercial and NGO arenas.  Prior to joining CATALYST, Ms. Harrison designed, implemented, and evaluated contraceptive social marketing programs worldwide.  (Full Bio).

Gladys Pozo, MD, is Director of the Bolivia Office with expertise in adolescent health, program development and scale-up, training, monitoring and evaluation (Full Bio).

Ximena Calle, Psychologist, is responsible for PAC Counseling at the Bolivia office, with expertise in PAC counseling, training, monitoring and supervision.

Carmen Cornejo, MD, is Medical Coordinator of the Bolivia Office, with expertise in reproductive health programs and experience in implementing those health programs within the Bolivian Ministry of Health.

José Del Barco, MD, MPH, is the Pathfinder/CATALYST PAC advisor in Bolivia with expertise in designing training curricula, training of trainers (TOT) and clinical training, reproductive health and contraceptive technology.

Roberto Guillen, MBA, is Deputy Director of the Bolivia Office, with extensive expertise in designing and implementing management and accounting systems.

María Eugenia Lopez, Psychologist, brings her expertise with adolescents, training, program implementation, monitoring and supervision to her position as Adolescents Program Coordinator.


Damianos Odeh, PhD, MS, brings over 25 years of experience in program design, evaluation, project implementation and international development to the launch of CATALYST's Egypt office as Country Representative (Full Bio).

Mohamed Abou Nar, Deputy Country Representative, participates in the overall development of program strategies, annual work plans and budgets, and short-term technical assistance plans, in collaboration with the Country Representative and the program's management/technical teams. He assists the Country Representative and oversees all aspects of program management, local office administration, including supervision of designated local staff (Full Bio).


Bulbul Sood, MBBS, MPH, has over 25 years of experience in reproductive health program coordination and management. Over the last few years, she has been overseeing several innovative FP/RH projects on sustainability, expanding method mix, operations research for SDM and safe motherhood. (Full Bio).

Abrar A. Khan, Masters in Social Work, serves as Regional Capacity Building and Management Advisor and is part of the Capacity Building Division of CEDPA/Washington, D.C. For the past several years, he has co-facilitated international training courses. He has conducted training courses in the South Asia region and Egypt, particularly in the areas of Appreciative Inquiry, institutional building, reproductive health, program management, capacity building, strategic planning, gender equity and sustainability (Full Bio).

Arundhati Mishra, MBBS and Masters in Health Management, serves as Youth Coordinator for CATALYST. She has provided technical assistance in the implementation, monitoring, documentation and evaluation of youth development and Adolescent Reproductive Health (ARH) programs and in the design and implementation of in-country training activities. Ravi Anand, MBBS, serves as Reproductive Health Advisor. She provides technical assistance in reproductive health to the NGOs in the IFPS project of USAID in Uttar Pradesh and works closely with the Apex Training Centres in the development of systems and tools for the NGO sector to facilitate the provision of high quality reproductive health care. Aparajita Gogoi, PhD in International Politics with a Masters in Journalism, serves as Communications and Advocacy Officer. Her expertise is in formulating and implementing communication, behavior change and advocacy programs and strategies, and she has extensive experience in documentation, graphic design, multimedia and film production. In addition to her communications work, she is the White Ribbon Alliance ― India coordinator.

Tina Ravi, Bachelor of Arts, Program Associate, provides a range of programmatic and administrative support services, including compiling progress reports, managing databases, assisting in program documentation, desktop publishing and design, assisting in publication production, liaising with other technical agencies/partners/USAID, and organizing workshops and conferences.

Mukesh Aggarwal, Bachelor of Commerce (Honors) and Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, serves as Finance and Personnel Manager. He has over 15 years of experience working on budget, accounting and financial issues. In addition to having a graduate degree in commerce, he also possesses an FCA degree in Finance and Accounting from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. He has previously held senior positions with a CPA firm, the private corporate sector and USAID. He provides budget information, financial analysis and business decisions, and coordinates all aspects of the accounting and financial reporting functions. He also supervises the administration support team and personnel matters.

Tessy George Thomas, Finance/Administrative Associate, holds a Bachelor's Degree in Commerce and provides a range of finance and administrative support to the CEDPA/CATALYST India staff members.

Annes George Thomas, Bachelor's Degree in Science, serves as Receptionist/Secretary, is responsible for answering telephone calls, screening visitors and general correspondence. She also provides secretarial services to the other program and administrative staff. 


Milka Dinev,  Country Representative-Peru,   is responsible for providing overall strategic direction to CATALYST Peru's  diverse family planning and reproductive health programs.  In addition, Ms. Dinev provides management support, technical guidance and programmatic oversight to senior program managers.   She pursues diversified funding sources to implement innovative programs in keeping with the overall organizational strategic plan.
