Finance & Operations Manager

UNIT: Catalyst Consortium
REPORTS TO:

Deputy Director, Catalyst

LOCATION:

Washington, D.C.

SUMMARY:

The Finance and Operations Manager will report to the Catalyst Deputy Director and be involved in the daily running of the office. She/he will be responsible for managing the financial resources of the Catalyst project and will provide clarification and consultation on the financial implications of business decisions. This position will require international travel to country offices.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with the Deputy Director to implement the agreed-upon operations and workflow systems and ensure consistent Catalyst-wide compliance.
  • Work with the Deputy Director on the recruitment process according to established practices.
  • Trouble shoots and solves problems for Project Management and Country Reps on F/A matters.
  • In collaboration with the Finance Officer ensure that all of the F/A activities are in compliance with all applicable state, federal and international government law and regulations as well as Pathfinder's internal policies and procedures.
  • Respond to requests from the client in all F/A matters.
  • Coordinates with Finance Officer on budget activities.
  • Coordinates support with internal audit functions and guidance to field offices.
  • Supervises the Finance Officer and Administrative Staff.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Masters Degree, preferably MBA
  • Knowledge of management and finances of international non-profit organization
  • Management Experience
  • Ability to promote organizational strength in an international setting
  • Experience intermediating among different corporate structure.
  • Experience with USAID, knowledge of policies and procedures.
  • Willingness to travel internationally.
  • Excellent communication skills, strong interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Basic knowledge of IT equipment
