Program Officer

UNIT: Catalyst Consortium
REPORTS TO:

Deputy Project Director, Catalyst Consortium

LOCATION:

Washington, D.C.

Job Summary:

The Program Officer supports program activities of assigned CATALYST projects and country programs.  The Program Officer is responsible for timely and effective provision of operational and administrative support of technical assistance provided through the CATALYST D.C. office.

Job Description:

  • Provides support in researching and writing for technical initiatives related to reproductive health and family planning, together with the senior advisors;
  • Assists in the development and implementation of long-term country program proposals, strategies, results frameworks, work plans and budgets;
  • Assists in the documentation process for quarterly/annual portfolio reviews, reports and evaluations that document program progress against expected results; 
  • Assists the senior staff with the planning and provision of assistance from other in-house experts (Reproductive Health, Evaluation, and Behavior Change, etc.) and consultants;
  • Provide operational, administrative and technical backstop support to country offices.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Public Health, Public Administration, or related Social Sciences.
  • Knowledge of reproductive health and family planning issues
  • Excellent communication and writing skills as well as strong interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity.
  • Fluency in local languages of ANE or Spanish a plus.
